Maintenance Manager - Paintshop

Role: Maintenance Manager - Paint Shop Location: Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Reporting to: Maintenance Head Team name: Maintenance, Manufacturing Operations About the Team and the Role: The Maintenance Manager Paint Shop is a critical leadership position responsible for ensuring the high availability, reliability, and seamless operation of all plant and machinery within the highly automated Cathode Electro Deposition (CED) and Liquid Paint environment. This role is the primary custodian of asset health and drives a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) culture to achieve zero breakdowns and eliminate root causes of equipment inefficiencies. The Lead must provide technical expertise in robotics and process control, manage cross-functional collaboration, and align the team's efforts to consistently meet strict Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery (SQCD) targets across all paint shop maintenance activities. Responsibilities Set and establish the performance and safety culture of the function while representing it in all relevant meetings, audits, and forums. Drive team performance to meet internal customer targets (SQCDM) and ensure maximum uptime and reliability for Paint Shop assets (CED & Liquid Paint systems). Manage and oversee outsourced maintenance services, including defining the Scope of Work and monitoring vendor performance for Paint Shop and Utility O&M. Ensure all processes and new asset introductions (via APDS) meet technical, safety, quality, and organizational requirements, incorporating ergonomics guidelines. Own all functional processes and strategically plan resources based on organizational goals. Establish and maintain a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) culture to achieve zero breakdowns. Identify and lead high-impact improvement projects for plant and machinery. Apply core Lean principles (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen) to systematically identify and eliminate waste (Muda, Muri, Mura) from maintenance processes. Experience and Qualifications BE / B Tech (Electrical/Mechanical) 10 to 14 years of relevant experience Must Have Competencies SAP Maintenance Modules (PM) and MRO spares management Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Reliability Maintenance strategies Lean Manufacturing principles, process optimization, and waste reduction across maintenance operations Data-driven decision making and structured problem solving using operational data (CMMS records, sensor data, and downtime reports) Good to Have Competencies Industry 4.0 applications, digital transformation, and Labview programming in maintenance operations Maintenance budgeting, cost control, and optimization of spending on MRO spares Workflow and task management within JIRA and standard SAP environments Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) building and long-term improvement planning Want to know more?
