Role: Senior Engineer - Vehicle Diagnostic Applications Location: IBC Knowledge Park, Bengaluru Reporting to: Head - Vehicle Diagnostic Applications Team name: Dashboard Software and Operations About the Team and the Role The Dash team at Ather is responsible for building robust software operations and internal tools that power our vehicle ecosystems. This role is for a Senior Engineer who will evaluate and implement new technologies, design modularized code, and build critical diagnostic applications in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where boundaries are constantly expanding. Responsibilities Develop and design modularized code with a strong emphasis on efficiency and re-usability. Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to build and optimize diagnostic tools. Evaluate emerging technologies and make decisive choices on architectural solutions. Create rapid proof-of-concepts (POCs) for new features and innovative software solutions. Navigate and drive progress in fluid environments where project boundaries are not rigidly defined. Resolve technical blockers effectively through deep engineering expertise and alignment negotiation. Experience and Qualifications Software engineering degree 6 to 9 years of experience as a Vehicle Diagnostic Applications Engineer Must Have Competencies Extensive hands-on experience working with UDS and CAN protocols for vehicle diagnostics. Deep expertise in writing and maintaining efficient code using Python or Javascript, with a strong preference for Python. Demonstrated capability in implementing applications that utilize concurrency and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles. Strong proficiency in designing and integrating systems using Websockets and REST APIs. Good to have Competencies Practical experience with database management systems, particularly working with MySQL or MongoDB. Working knowledge of shell scripting for process automation and system-level tasks. Familiarity with at least one modern web framework, such as ReactJS or Flask, to support full-stack application development.
