FSCD Support Educator

About the Role Please note: This is a term position starting as soon as possible and ending August 2027, with a possibility of extension if the child continues to require services. Age group - Preschool Shifts will be: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm Monday to Friday (without a break). 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm Monday to Friday (without a break). 8:00 am - 6:00 pm Non-school/PD days (with a 1.5 hour break). We are seeking an individual who possesses a strong understanding of child development, exceptional engagement skills, and a dedication to fostering positive relationships with both children and colleagues. The ideal candidate will be dependable, adaptable, fluent in English, and exhibit outstanding communication, multitasking abilities, and experience with children with varied abilities. Prior experience is advantageous, and candidates must possess Alberta Child Care certification levels 1, along with current criminal record check (with vulnerable sector search) and first aid certification. Key Responsibilities Providing one-on-one support for a specific child within the childcare program. Creating and implementing engaging programming tailored to the interests and needs of the child. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety within the environment. Leading and supporting the child in integrated learning and recreational activities. Actively supervising and engaging with the child while ensuring their well-being. Cultivating positive relationships with the child, their family, and colleagues. Participating in professional development initiatives. Adhering to Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulations and Active Start's policies and procedures to ensure quality care. Qualifications Must possess Alberta Child Care certification levels 1 Prove n experience as an Educator or Teacher Prior experience wor king with children with disability is a strong asset Strong communication and interpersonal skills Familiarity with educational technology and tools Certification in teaching is a plus Why Join Active Start ?
