Pharmacy Technician Specialist Infusion Center

Assists the pharmacist in the delivery of quality pharmaceutical care and medication distribution, as permitted by law. Each technician level requires increased independence, complexity, and leadership within the pharmacy area. Essential Job Functions • Assists the pharmacist with all aspects of the Billings Clinic medication distribution system including compounding/admixing pharmaceutical preparations, unit-dosing medications, filling restocking medication kits/trays, medication cart-fill, and timely delivery of pharmaceuticals to appropriate area(s), as applicable • Assists in the maintenance of adequate medication inventories and supplies, including communication with the purchasing team to order medications or assisting with medication ordering, as applicable • Maintains an accurate controlled substance perpetual inventory via appropriate use of controlled substance vault or controlled substance records, as applicable • Answers the telephone and assists customers seeking pharmaceutical care. • Performs a variety of data entry and report generating tasks • Maintains the pharmacy and decentralized pharmacy areas in a neat and organized condition • Participates in quality improvement activities Department or Level Specific Duties and Responsibilities • Performs specialized tasks within an area or has a position with specialized duties that contribute the hospital and pharmacy care teams • Demonstrates independent performance and competence with minimal pharmacist intervention • Leads or participates in improvement projects • Serves as a mentor to other technicians and supports staff development • Trained to perform all duties in their respective area or specialty • Provides professional feedback to pharmacy team and leadership • Demonstrates advanced interpersonal and operational leadership skills • Handle a multitude of difficult situations in a calm and professional manner
