Xylem is seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah . In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain Godwin diesel pump systems while delivering exceptional service to our customers. This position combines shop-based work with field service responsibilities and offers the opportunity to work independently while supporting critical water infrastructure.

What Your Day Will Look Like

As a Senior Field Service Technician, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel-powered pumping equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and respond to customer service needs. You will inspect equipment, diagnose mechanical, electrical, and diesel engine issues, complete repairs, and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.

While equipment-specific training will be provided, candidates with strong diesel engine experience—particularly with Caterpillar and John Deere engines—will transition especially well into this role.

This position primarily follows a Monday-Friday day shift schedule, with occasional overtime and weekend work based on customer and business needs.

Senior Field Service Technicians are expected to provide their own specialty tools.

What We're Looking For

  • Three (3) or more years of diesel engine repair and maintenance experience preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with diesel, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Experience with Caterpillar and John Deere diesel engines preferred
  • Experience with Godwin pump systems or similar industrial pumping equipment is a plus
  • Ability to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain diesel-powered equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check, drug screening, MVR review, and DOT physical

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, typically 7:00 AM-4:00/5:00 PM
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work as business needs require

The estimated pay range for this position is $34 to $36 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
