Designated Institutional Officer (DIO)

The Designated Institutional Official (DIO), is responsible for maintaining the educational quality, financial viability, administrative/academic structure, accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements for graduate medical education (GME). The position functions as a liaison between the ACGME and the residents/fellows, teaching faculty, GME Office, departments/caregivers internal to the hospital, and institutions serving as outside teaching sites for residents and fellows.
