Vascular Access Coordinator (RN)

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of adults requiring vascular access device (VAD) placement. Performs VAD insertion and maintenance using ultrasound and modified Seldinger Technique (MST) for placement. Communicates with physicians, co-workers and/or nursing director, as appropriate about the patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Collaborates with other departments to ensure efficient patient quality care is provided. Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures.
