About The Role

Job Summary The Culinary Coordinator has primary responsibility for product ordering, storeroom staff oversight, purchasing, product evaluation, and other daily functions to support assigned foodservice operation. This position will collaborate with the chef and operations teams to develop, cost, and implement menus for the dining operation. As a vital part of the team, this position will assist in maintaining the highest standards for menu quality, variety, and service to our students. What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, Foods in Business, or related field preferred. Three years’ experience in foodservice production and orders, emphasizing high volume feeding in a fast-paced food service environment. Hands-on, food production experience. Certification in ServSafe sanitation program is required or the ability to obtain within one year. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. For example, an associate’s degree and five years of experience or a high school diploma/GED and seven years of experience. Knowledge of and ability to work in a Food Inventory Management System. Must be organized, knowledgeable of food and labor costs, with a proven record for managing food cost controls to meet targets. Strong organizational skills along with the ability to be flexible and adjust to both schedule and priorities. Knowledge of and ability to do inventory management What is helpful: University food service supervisory experience is a plus.
