Job Description The primary role of the student clerical position is clerical tasks such as data entry, customer service and office tasks. The goal of this position is to give students valuable real-world experience in a finance environment. This position should work 10 hours per week during the current semester. Those hours may be worked in any combination, at the discretion of the direct supervisor. The student clerical position must be reliable, organized, responsible, and flexible. They must also be ambitious, detail-oriented, creative, and driven. Qualifications Must be actively enrolled at Purdue University, Purdue Global Available to work 10-20 hours per week throughout academic year, Monday through Friday Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written Flexible and dependable with a strong attention to detail Problem solving, logic and reasoning skills Customer service oriented Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines Ability to work independently and with a team Be timely and organized Proficiency in Microsoft Office Position Responsibilities Provide customer service (i.e.: greet customers, answer phones, etc.) Prepare disbursements for pick-up/mailing Distribute payments Exhibit friendliness, diplomacy, and tact in responding to customers Track and prepare documentation for purchasing card reconciliation Maintain confidentiality and exhibit professional conduct when handling sensitive information Follow up with customers Office related tasks (i.e.: scan, file, etc.) Other duties as assigned-special projects as assigned Core Competencies Transferable Skill Development: Students employed in this role will develop and demonstrate a number of transferable skills essential for future employment success and be reviewed on these skills in their performance evaluation.
