About the role: As a Design Engineer you will join our mechanical design team in Mannheim, contributing to the development of specialized, often remotely operated, equipment used for repair processes on nuclear power plant components. You will participate in the full lifecycle of innovative tools and systems—from concept design through testing, qualification, and field deployment. You will report to the Manager NDE & Special Products and be located at Mannheim Key Responsibilities: Develop and design concepts and equipment used for the repair of key nuclear power plant components. Create detailed mechanical designs and technical solutions tailored to complex environments Support the development, testing, and qualification of new equipment, including participation in customer reviews and on-site activities. Contribute to FOAK (First-Of-A-Kind) projects and drive products from prototype to maturity. Prepare comprehensive project documentation such as Work Instructions, Development Programs, Test Reports, and Bills of Materials, etc. Provide ongoing support for existing products, including troubleshooting, spare parts coordination, technician training, etc. Contribute to active projects and work closely across departments, sites, and international teams. Foster collaboration across countries within the organization. Qualifications: Min. 3 years of experience in development, design and testing of specialized electromechanical equipment. German in speaking and writing (mother tongue or C2-Level) - required English in speaking and writing (min. B1, B2 preferred) - required French in speaking and writing (optional) Proficient user of CAD design software, preferably Creo Knowledge of machining / chip-removal processes (optional) Knowledge of Hydraulics (optional) Knowledge of welded structure design (optional) Strong problem‑solving mindset Team-oriented with open and clear communication #LI-Hybrid Why Westinghouse?
