Cost Engineering Manager / Senior Manager(J23818)

1. Market Intelligence

Closely follow up or undertake evaluation trend of own commodities or technology and actively identify among technologies the opportunities on higher customer value, cost effective/sustainable solutions or competitive supplier base, help making proper product and commodity strategy.

1. Cost Benchmarking

Closely follow up or undertake evaluation development trend of technology, covering raw material, bought of parts, processes (Machine, equipment), tooling. Utilize cost methodologies, tools and appropriate software models and provide expert knowledge in cost analysis, manufacturing processes, material/supplier comparison etc.

1. Should cost generation and analysis

Maintain reliable and accurate data related to raw materials, processes, machines, labor rates etc. relevant to the scope of work. Perform all cost estimating duties ensuring conformity to departmental procedures and processes, involving detailed, directional, should cost generation.

1. Design to Cost, Source to Cost

Playing a lead role driving cost effective design and supplier negotiations, both within and in addition to cross functional team activities at: The tendering process, engineering design changes and supplier claims.

1. Supplier Review

Use technical and commercial expertise to review, validate and drive Best Practice in supplier processes. To support supplier selection activities, production of the quotation request and analysis review, process modelling and verification.

1. Value Analysis and Value engineering (VAVE)

Providing expert technical and cost direction, including competitor benchmarking, cost down workshops, tear down activities, cost gap closure.

1. Bachelor degree or above
2. Required 5 to 10 years in similar industry or automobile space
3. Deep understanding of various cost models viz. Should Costing, Directional Costing, linear Performance Pricing, Price History, Benchmarking etc.
4. Business and financial acumen, strong cost estimating skills.
5. Strength of character and a determination to actively identify and champion for all kinds of business opportunities.
