Job Summary

The

Sports Teacher

is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality physical education and sports programs that promote fitness, teamwork, discipline, and overall student well-being. The role involves organizing classes, inter-house and inter-school competitions, and developing an inclusive and engaging sporting culture within the school community.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Curriculum Delivery
  • Plan and implement physical education lessons across relevant grade levels in line with the school’s curriculum (IB, Cambridge, or local board).
  • Teach a range of sports, games, fitness activities, and health education topics appropriate to age and ability levels.
  • Foster sportsmanship, cooperation, and respect through team-based activities.
  1. Co-curricular & Competitive Sports
  • Organize and coach school teams for various inter-house and inter-school sports events (football, basketball, athletics, etc.).
  • Conduct after-school sports clubs and training sessions.
  • Identify and nurture student athletic talent and encourage participation in regional or national events.
  1. Student Engagement & Well-being
  • Encourage lifelong physical activity habits and a healthy lifestyle.
  • Adapt lessons for students with different physical abilities and fitness levels.
  • Promote inclusion, confidence, and resilience through physical activity.
  1. Event Planning
  • Coordinate sports events such as Sports Day, fitness challenges, tournaments, and health awareness programs.
  • Collaborate with staff for integrated school events involving physical activities.
  • Maintain event records, team registrations, and participation data.
  1. Safety & Resource Management
  • Ensure student safety during all physical activities and comply with school health and safety guidelines.
  • Inspect and maintain sports equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and performance records.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field.
  • Teaching certification preferred (especially for international curricula like IB or Cambridge).
  • 2+ years of experience as a PE/sports teacher, preferably in an international or multicultural environment.
  • Strong knowledge of multiple sports and fitness techniques.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

Working Hours

Full-time, Monday to Saturday

May require additional hours for after-school training, sports events, or weekend tournaments
