  1. Role Overview

The

CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) Coordinator

is responsible for overseeing and implementing the CAS component of the IB Diploma Programme in alignment with IB philosophy and standards. The CAS Coordinator guides students in designing, executing, and reflecting on meaningful experiences that foster personal growth, community engagement, and global citizenship.

  1. Key Responsibilities

CAS Programme Implementation

  • Develop, plan, and coordinate the overall CAS programme in compliance with IB guidelines.
  • Introduce students to the aims, objectives, and requirements of CAS at the beginning of the DP course.
  • Support students in planning, executing, and reflecting on their CAS experiences.
  • Ensure all three strands—

Creativity

Activity

, and

Service

  • —are balanced across student portfolios.
  • Promote the integration of CAS with subject areas and school events.

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Maintain accurate student records and reflections using ManageBac or other IB-approved systems.
  • Regularly review student progress and provide feedback on their CAS experiences.
  • Conduct periodic one-on-one meetings with students to track CAS goals and learning outcomes.
  • Ensure all CAS documentation meets IB evidence and reflection standards for moderation.

Collaboration & Community Engagement

  • Coordinate with subject teachers, activity heads, and community organizations to design CAS opportunities.
  • Facilitate service-learning partnerships within the local community.
  • Encourage student-led initiatives and projects that reflect IB Learner Profile attributes.
  • Collaborate with the DP Coordinator to align CAS activities with overall DP planning and evaluation.

Professional Development & Communication

  • Stay updated with the latest IB CAS requirements through IB workshops and official communications.
  • Conduct CAS orientation sessions for staff, students, and parents.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure clarity on CAS policies and expectations.
  • Prepare CAS reports for internal reviews and IB authorization or evaluation visits.

School Support

  • Assist in organizing school events, assemblies, and activities that promote creativity, physical engagement, and service.
  • Contribute to the holistic development of students in alignment with the IB mission and school vision.
  1. Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Education or related field.
  • Recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed/M.Ed or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of teaching or IB DP experience (experience in CAS coordination preferred).
  • Strong understanding of IB philosophy and CAS learning outcomes.
  • Experience in community service or co-curricular program management will be an added advantage.
