About The Role

Compensation Salary Schedule Additional Qualifications Position Summary The After-School Program Hourly Employee provides supervision, academic support, and enrichment opportunities for students participating in the school's after-school program. The employee ensures a safe, positive, and engaging environment while supporting the educational mission of Orange County Public Schools. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise students during after-school program hours. Ensure student safety and maintain appropriate student-to-staff ratios at all times. Monitor student behavior and implement school-wide expectations and discipline procedures. Assist students with homework, class assignments, and academic enrichment activities. Facilitate structured recreational, educational, and enrichment activities. Take and maintain accurate attendance records. Assist with student sign-out and dismissal procedures. Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and school administration. Ensure all program areas remain clean, organized, and safe. Follow all OCPS policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Report accidents, injuries, behavioral concerns, and other incidents to the program coordinator or administrator. Participate in required trainings and staff meetings. Maintain confidentiality regarding student information. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal, assistant principal, or program coordinator. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with elementary-age children preferred. Ability to supervise groups of students effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families. Must meet all OCPS employment requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and actively supervise students for extended periods. Ability to move classroom and activity materials as needed. Work Schedule Part-time hourly position, max 29 hours per week. Typically Monday through Friday during after-school program hours. Additional hours may be required for training or special events.
