The Software Development Intern is primarily responsible for coordinating project activities, reporting on project statuses and conducting initial testing on the software systems. This is a hands-on position where the intern and other technical resources work in an agile team environment to provide the technical capabilities that support AHRI’s mission and its member organizations.

Principal Duties

• Coordinates project activities with the project stakeholders, the development team and external partners and vendors
• Reports on project statuses and alerts management of potential road blocks
• Works with software developers and end users to test and document new projects and project enhancements
• Hands on testing of systems and processes prior to release
• Communicates with project team on milestones and propose solutions to address issues encountered by the team
• Completes all required project and service documentation

Skills Required

• Ability to conduct software testing
• Ability to organize and coordinate projects
• Can collaborate well with other team members in an agile environment
• Experience using Microsoft Project is a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills that enable the individual to work in a team with diverse skills and experience in order to respond to business needs.
• Attention to detail
• Able to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence and regulations
