• Base salary will range from $119,462 - $141,545 + 17% Superannuation

About This Opportunity

This unique conjoint opportunity brings together UQ’s School of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences and the Audiology department at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Metro South Health. As a Conjoint Research Fellow in Audiology , you will help strengthen clinically focused research capability across both institutions, building purposeful partnerships that translate evidence into better adult Audiology practice. Working in a collaborative, inclusive and research-led environment, you will shape projects that respond to real clinical priorities while contributing to our shared vision of creating change together.

As a Conjoint Research Fellow, you will lead and contribute to high-quality research in Audiology, building on an established publication record to enhance national recognition in the field. You will design, conduct and disseminate clinically focused research, including presenting findings at conferences and engaging with key stakeholders. As a Research Academic at Level B, you will undertake Chief Investigator responsibilities in applications for external research funding, supervise UQ students, and contribute to research, quality assurance, and evidence-based practice initiatives across The University of Queensland and Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Key responsibilities will include

• Research: Lead and contribute to an independent and team-based research program in adult Audiology, producing high-quality outputs and building national recognition in the discipline.
• Teaching: Contribute to postgraduate teaching in the School of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences
• Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, support researcher capability, and facilitate meaningful engagement opportunities for supervisees.
• Citizenship and Service: Build strong partnerships across UQ, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Metro South Health, Queensland Health, professional bodies, industry and the wider community.

About You

• Completion of a PhD in Audiology, with clinical experience and an understanding of clinical priorities and constraints within a healthcare setting.
• A growing profile in research which is relevant to Audiology services provided at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and a desire to support clinical research in a broad array of research areas at UQ.
• A proven ability to develop, organise, and undertake research in consultation with others to develop cooperative research initiatives, with experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
• Evidence of engaging in multidisciplinary research and health services research, with evidence of translating research into clinical practice.
• A commitment to building long-term relationships and research partnerships to support research capacity building within the PAH Audiology department.
• Experience in seeking and obtaining research funding.
• A developing reputation and track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.
