About The Role
Job Title: Pre-Nursing Teacher Reports To: Principal / Academic Director
Position Overview: The Pre-Nursing Teacher will provide high-quality instruction to high school students enrolled in the pre-nursing pathway. This teacher will prepare students with foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary for success in nursing programs and healthcare-related fields. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health sciences, experience in nursing or a related healthcare field, and a passion for teaching and mentoring future healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities

- Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in health science, anatomy, physiology, and introductory nursing concepts.

- Provide students with hands-on learning opportunities, including demonstrations, simulations, and lab activities.

- Teach foundational clinical skills (e.g., vital signs, infection control, patient care basics) in preparation for further nursing education.

- Prepare students for certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid, CNA if applicable) and guide them through healthcare career pathways.
- -
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum with college and career readiness standards.
- -
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and interventions as needed.

- Maintain high expectations for student achievement, professionalism, and ethical standards in healthcare.

- Create a supportive classroom environment that fosters student engagement, inquiry, and respect.

- Build partnerships with local healthcare providers, colleges, and programs to support student growth and opportunities.
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Science, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- -
- Current or prior nursing license (RN, LPN, or CNA instructor certification preferred).
- -
- Prior teaching or training experience strongly preferred.
- -
- Strong knowledge of healthcare practices, terminology, and patient care.

- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.

- Commitment to equity, student success, and preparing diverse learners for healthcare careers.
