Project Buyer

About The Role
An international automotive company specializing in the development and manufacturing of high-quality technical components for leading automotive manufacturers is expanding its Purchasing team. We are looking for a Project Buyer who is organized, proactive, and results-oriented, ready to contribute to the successful procurement of project-related components while supporting the commodity purchasing activities for plastic raw materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement of purchased parts throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from concept phase to series production
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies in close collaboration with the Strategic Purchasing team
- Prepare cost estimates and support quotation activities through cost analysis
- Conduct market, price, and value analyses to identify the most competitive sourcing solutions
- Lead price and contract negotiations with suppliers
- Evaluate, select, and continuously develop the supplier base
- Coordinate suppliers throughout project execution and monitor supplier performance
- Ensure purchasing activities meet cost, quality, and delivery objectives
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes
- Support commodity purchasing activities related to plastic raw materials, including plastic granulates
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, and Production teams to define material requirements and technical specifications
The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field) or a technical qualification combined with commercial experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Project Purchasing or Purchasing, preferably within the automotive industry
- Experience in sourcing technical components; experience with plastic raw materials is considered a strong advantage
- Solid understanding of sourcing strategies and supplier management
- Experience in supplier negotiations and contract management
- Good knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office
- Business-level English, both written and spoken
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Willingness to travel occasionally
