ABOUT THE ROLE

The Brand & Trade Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving brand performance and in-market trade execution across assigned and new product portfolios. The role bridges brand strategy and commercial delivery, ensuring that brand plans translate into measurable results at the point of sale, across retail and trade channels. The position works closely with distributors, key accounts, and cross-functional teams to maximize brand visibility, market share, and commercial ROI.

  1. Brand Management & Strategy
  • Develop and execute annual brand plans aligned with business objectives and revenue targets.
  • Define brand positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies for assigned portfolios.
  • Monitor brand performance metrics and market share data, adjusting plans based on commercial insights.
  • Conduct ongoing competitor analysis and category trend tracking to identify growth opportunities and commercial risks.
  • Coordinate new product launches end-to-end: pricing, ranging, launch activation, and in-store execution.
  • Build and manage annual brand budgets, tracking spend efficiency and return on investment.
  1. Trade Marketing & Channel Execution
  • Design and implement trade marketing programs across modern trade, traditional trade, HORECA, and wholesale channels.
  • Develop channel-specific promotional calendars, activation plans, and visibility standards.
  • Monitor and optimize trade investment spending to maximize commercial ROI across channels.
  • Ensure brand standards, planogram compliance, and in-store execution quality across retail touchpoints.
  • Analyze promotional effectiveness and trade spend efficiency, providing data-driven recommendations.
  • Support route-to-market optimization in coordination with the distribution and commercial teams.
  1. Distributor & Key Account Collaboration
  • Serve as the brand-level point of contact for distributors and key retail accounts.
  • Develop joint business plans with distribution partners to drive brand growth and in-market activation.
  • Monitor distributor performance against agreed KPIs: sales targets, numeric distribution, market coverage, and execution standards.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with trade partners, identifying gaps and corrective actions.
  • Support distributor teams with brand training, sell-in materials, and promotional tools.
  • Ensure alignment between brand objectives and distributor execution on the ground.
  1. Commercial Planning & Performance Tracking
  • Contribute to monthly and annual sales forecasting, promotional planning, and inventory alignment.
  • Track and report brand KPIs: sell-in, sell-out, distribution coverage, visibility scores, and market share.
  • Identify revenue growth opportunities within existing accounts and new channel segments.
  • Collaborate with finance on trade investment management, credit alignment, and commercial compliance.
  • Provide actionable commercial analysis to support pricing decisions and portfolio management.
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with supply chain and operations to ensure product availability, accurate forecasting, and on-time delivery.
  • Partner with the commercial team to align brand activities with sales targets and market priorities.
  • Coordinate with external agencies and vendors on creative, activation, and POSM production.
  • Support the Senior Commercial Manager with market intelligence, commercial reporting, and brand performance updates.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4–7 years of experience in brand management, trade marketing, business development or commercial roles — within FMCG, consumer goods, or distribution.
  • Proven experience managing distributor relationships and trade channel execution in Jordan or the broader MENA region.
  • Strong understanding of modern trade, traditional trade, and HORECA channel dynamics.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and commercial planning.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable brand and trade strategies.
  • Excellent English communication skills; Arabic fluency is a strong plus.
