About The Role

Product Engineering Manager

About Us

Lyrebird is building a category-defining clinical AI platform used daily by frontline clinicians. Our products reduce administrative burden, improve documentation quality, and help clinicians focus on the patient in front of them.

Thousands of clinicians rely on Lyrebird every day. That trust is earned through speed, reliability, safety, and operational excellence.

We are shipping software directly into real-world clinical workflows where accuracy, latency, reliability, and trust materially matter. The systems we build are used in live patient environments.

We care deeply about what we build and who we build it for. The systems you help ship will support clinicians making real patient decisions, every single day.

The Role

We are hiring a Product Engineering Manager to run engineering to run our workflows team.

This is a senior, hands-on delivery leadership role accountable for building, shipping, and operating complex production systems in a technically complex, clinically sensitive environment.

You will operate as the engineering counterpart to the Clinical Product Lead, working alongside Product and Design as one integrated product team, co-owning outcomes rather than executing against tickets.

Relentless urgency underpins how we work. We bias to action, shorten feedback loops, and expect visible weekly progress without compromising quality, safety, or trust.

This role is 80 percent operational leadership and 20 percent hands-on technical contribution, and you will own delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives without losing clarity or momentum.

What you'll do

  • Drive outcome-based execution, making decisive trade-offs on scope, sequencing, and approach
  • Operate as a true peer to Product, Design, and Clinical, co-owning commitments and priorities
  • Ship production-grade AI systems with speed, reliability, and clinical trust
  • Maintain operational readiness, quality, and production stability
  • Lead and develop high-performing engineers, setting a high bar for pace and ownership
  • Address underperformance early and build a culture of accountability and urgency

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience leading engineering delivery in a high-growth or high-complexity environment
  • Strong track record shipping production AI or data-intensive systems
  • Experience running multiple streams of work without losing clarity or momentum
  • Ability to make trade-offs quickly and decisively
  • High ownership mindset with a bias toward action
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity while maintaining execution discipline
  • Strong people leadership skills with a track record of building high-performing teams
  • Experience in healthcare or clinical software is advantageous, including familiarity with clinical workflows, safety expectations, and compliance requirements
