Accountant

Purpose of the role

Accountant will be responsible to manage and oversee financial records, reporting, and compliance, with a strong focus on construction project accounting, cost control, and financial accuracy.

Responsibilities

• To maintain proper and accurate records of all daily transactions in accordance with International Accounting Standards.
• Monitor cash flow, manage bank reconciliations, and oversee petty cash and treasury operations.
• Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and other regulatory submissions.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Assist in budget preparation, financial planning, and variance analysis.
• Prepare financial reports and management reports to support business decision-making.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information
• Maintain all account and finance documents such us invoice, contracts in the filling system for record keeping.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Reconciliation of bank, customer, and supplier’s balances.
• Manage the full cycle of asset accounting.
• Manage project-based accounting, including tracking costs, budgets, and expenditures for construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, financial policies, and accounting standards.

Qualifications required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA qualification is required
• Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience, with prior experience in the construction industry
• Strong understanding of project accounting and cost control
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
