What will I be doing?

You’ll be part of our Operations team, working across a variety of client sites to deliver essential water hygiene and maintenance services. No two days are the same, but you can expect to:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on water systems
  • Conduct water sampling, flushing, and treatment activities
  • Ensure compliance with ACOP L8, HSG274, and water hygiene regulations
  • Accurately record all site work using company systems and software
  • Identify and report system issues or non-compliances to Account Managers
  • Build strong relationships with clients and represent SMS professionally on-site
  • Support and mentor junior engineers where required
  • You’ll have the autonomy to manage your workload, with the support of an experienced team behind you.
  • What do I need to be successful?

We’re looking for someone who knows their stuff and takes pride in doing things properly. You’ll need

  • Proven experience in water hygiene, water treatment, or Legionella control
  • Strong understanding of water hygiene regulations and best practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
  • Confident communication and client-facing skills
  • Awareness of Health & Safety practices (COSHH, risk assessments, etc.)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • If you’ve worked across sectors like healthcare, education, or commercial environments — even better.
