Food Service Worker with Cashing

Personal Touch Food Service is hiring Food Service Worker/Cashier for September 2nd start date.

Location: South Buffalo Charter School

• Pay Rate: 17.00 per hour
• Schedule: Part-time 7:00am -2:00 pm or 10:00 am 2:00pm shifts available school-day hours (Monday–Friday)
• We will be interviewing the week of July 20th, for the September 2nd start.

Position Summary

Personal Touch Food Service, Inc. is seeking a reliable and motivated Food Service Worker to join our school cafeteria team. This role includes food preparation, service, and operating a point-of-sale system to provide nutritious meals in a clean, friendly, and efficient environment for students and staff. The ideal candidate is punctual, team-oriented, dependable, and genuinely enjoys working in a fast-paced school environment with children.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and portioning in accordance with standardized recipes and menu guidelines.
• Serve meals to students and staff courteously and efficiently.
• Set up and restock serving lines, salad bars, and condiment stations.
• Operate a cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and handle transactions responsibly.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, utensils, equipment, and work areas.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local food safety regulations and company procedures.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supply inventory.
• Maintain accurate production and temperature logs.
• Follow all cleaning and sanitation schedules.
• Support special dietary needs and allergy accommodations under supervision.
• Work effectively with team members and communicate professionally with students and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager or Supervisor.

Requirements

• Reliable transportation is require
• Must be able to pass NYS background check
• Prior food service or cashiering experience in a school or similar setting preferred
• Ability to operate a cash register and handle money accurately
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety standards
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced school environment
• Must be team oriented, dependable, and genuinely enjoy working with children
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
