Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and residents' specific nutritional needs
• Plan menus that are balanced, appealing, and meet regulatory standards
• Ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared in a safe and sanitary manner
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and food preparation areas
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
• Collaborate with dietary staff and healthcare professionals to accommodate special diets
• Follow safety procedures and maintain compliance with health regulations

Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting
• Knowledge of dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements for elderly residents
• Ability to follow recipes and food safety standards
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Food handler’s certification or equivalent (as required by local regulations)
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
