Job Description
This thesis project investigates the integration of high-temperature heat pumps into industrial Direct Air Capture (DAC) systems. The aim is to assess how heat pumps can support the heat requirements of DAC processes and improve the overall energy efficiency and sustainability of the system. The research will include a feasibility study and a life cycle analysis to evaluate relevant system configurations, with key performance indicators such as energy use, CO2 emissions, costs and environmental impact (material use). It will also use modelling approaches to asses the integration. The final scope will be further defined in consultation with Shell and the academic supervisors at TU Delft.
