As a Graduate Software Integration Engineer, you'll join a team of experienced engineers working on the systems that connect our products, platforms, and customers. You'll gain hands-on experience with modern integration technologies, cloud platforms, APIs, automation tools, and AI-enabled solutions while learning from some of the industry's best.

What you'll be doing

As part of Heartland's Digital Automation & Transformation team, you'll help build and support the integrations that power our digital banking experiences.

You'll have opportunities to

  • Develop and enhance APIs and integration services
  • Work with modern cloud and container technologies
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation initiatives
  • Collaborate with software engineers, architects, product teams and business stakeholders
  • Learn best practices in security, scalability and system design
  • Participate in Agile delivery teams focused on continuous improvement
  • Help shape the future of AI-enabled banking solutions
  • From day one, you'll be working on meaningful projects that directly impact our customers and business.
  • What we're looking for
  • We're looking for graduates who are passionate about technology and eager to learn.

You'll ideally have

  • A Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • An understanding of programming principles and software development practices
  • Exposure to API development, cloud technologies, or systems integration through study, internships, projects, or personal interests
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A growth mindset and willingness to learn

Exposure to any of the following would be a bonus

  • Java or Spring Boot
  • REST APIs
  • Azure or cloud technologies
  • Docker and containerisation
  • CI/CD tools and automation
  • Microservices architecture
  • Agile ways of working
  • Don't worry if you haven't worked with all of these technologies yet—we're looking for potential, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
