Tech Lead

Role Summary

• We’re looking for a Full-Stack Tech Lead to lead delivery across web, mobile, and backend
• for a fast-moving tech startup. You’ll be hands-on across the stack while guiding architecture,
• setting engineering standards, and mentoring developers. You’ll also work closely with Product
• Owners and Project Managers to shape scope, plan releases, and ensure predictable
• delivery.
• This role suits someone who can move between React/Next.js (web), React Native (mobile),
• and .NET Core (backend), while making strong architectural decisions around DDD, modular
• monolith design, microservices tradeoffs, databases, and system design.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• ● Own the end-to-end technical direction across web, mobile, and backend.
• ● Drive pragmatic decisions around modular monolith vs microservices (boundaries,
• integration patterns, consistency tradeoffs).
• ● Apply DDD to create clear domain boundaries (bounded contexts, aggregates, domain
• events).
• ● Set standards for code quality, testing, API contracts, and documentation across the
• team.

Delivery & Collaboration with Product

● Partner closely with Product Owners and Project Managers to

• ○ clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, and reduce ambiguity
• ○ break epics into deliverable slices and estimate work realistically
• ○ plan sprints/releases and manage dependencies and risks
• ○ balance product speed with technical sustainability (tech debt, refactors, platform
• work)
• ● Provide engineering input into prioritisation, timelines, and tradeoffs.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

• ● Lead and mentor engineers through pairing, design reviews, code reviews, and
• coaching.
• ● Build a strong engineering culture around ownership, quality, and continuous
• improvement.
• ● Support hiring and onboarding as the team grows.
• Front-End (Web + Mobile)
• ● Lead development of high-quality experiences on web (React/Next.js) and mobile
• (React Native).
• ● Guide choices around state management, performance, component architecture, and
• cross-platform consistency.
• ● Ensure UI quality: responsive design, accessibility (web), and mobile UX polish
• (navigation, device differences).

Backend & Data

• ● Own backend design and implementation in .NET Core, including API design and
• security basics.
• ● Drive database design and performance (schema design, migrations, indexing, query
• optimisation).
• ● Implement resilient patterns: retries/timeouts, idempotency, background processing, and
• observability foundations.

Required Qualifications

• ● Strong full-stack experience shipping production products across frontend + backend
• (mobile experience required).
• ● Prior experience as a senior engineer/lead with clear ownership of delivery and
• mentorship.
• ● Strong system design skills and ability to communicate tradeoffs clearly.

● Demonstrated architectural competence in

• ○ DDD (practical application)
• ○ Modular monolith design (clear boundaries, dependency discipline)
• ○ Microservices understanding (when/how to split, data ownership, failure modes)
• ● Solid database fundamentals (relational DB design, migrations, performance tuning).
• ● Strong collaboration skills with Product Owners and Project Managers.

Key Technologies

• ● Web: React / Next.js, AgnularJS, Vue.js, Svelte, Zustand, Tanstack Query, Cypress,
• Playwright.
• ● Mobile: React Native, Expo, iOS, Android
• ● Backend: .NET Core, REST, DDD, CQRS, RabbitMQ, NATS,
• ● Data: Relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL / SQL Server)
