The Internal Control Specialist will work closely with key stakeholders to identify risks, implement control measures, and track recommendations to completion across all Financial & Operational areas of the BMI business globally.
Responsibilities
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of risk and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Control Testing: Test processes to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
- Follow-up of Control Recommendations: Track Internal Audit, Risk, and Control recommendations to completion and support process owners to implement recommendations timely.
- System and Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation and system enhancements, and support initiatives to streamline processes.
- Reporting and Communication: Draft risk review findings and reports, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in internal controls or auditing, resulting in a good understanding of key risks and controls.
- Ability to verbalize the significance and value-added benefit of control recommendations to key stakeholders in the business.
- Fluent English and strong communication skills.
- Ability to deal with challenging stakeholders respectfully and persuasively.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a critical mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree in an Accounting-related field.
Nice to Have
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) qualification.
- Systems experience with SAP (or other ERP systems).

Salary & Contract Details
- Salary: The gross monthly salary for this role is between 3,000 and 4,000 EUR gross, with the final offer reflecting your qualifications and experience.
- Contract Type: This is a fixed-term, maternity cover position. The contract will initially be signed for a 12-month period.
