About The Role

Are you looking for an opportunity to launch your career to the next level? We are now looking for Country Manager for Czech Republic & Slovakia.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and developing Valmet’s Flow Control business across Czechia and Slovakia. The role is accountable for achieving profitable growth, executing country business plans, building customer relationships, developing channel partners, and ensuring excellence in sales, service, and operational activities.

The Country Manager acts as the primary representative of Valmet in the local markets and works closely with regional leadership, service functions, distributors, and customers to drive sustainable business growth.

Your main responsibilities

Business Leadership

  • Develop and execute annual business plans for Czech Republic and Slovakia.
  • Deliver order intake, sales, profitability, and market share targets.
  • Monitor business performance and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Identify growth opportunities in key industries including energy, chemicals, refining, pulp & paper, and other process industries.

Sales & Customer Development

  • Lead direct sales activities and strategic customer engagement.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Drive account planning and opportunity management.
  • Support negotiations of commercial agreements and major contracts.
  • Ensure high-quality forecasting and pipeline management through CRM tools.

Service Business Growth

  • Promote service sales and lifecycle offerings.
  • Support development of local service capabilities and customer support.
  • Identify opportunities for modernization, upgrades, maintenance contracts, and spare parts business.

Channel & Distributor Management

  • Develop and manage local distributors, agents, and service partners.
  • Ensure partner compliance with Valmet standards and business objectives.
  • Support onboarding, training, and performance management of channel partners.
  • Drive joint business planning with distributors.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop the local Czech & Slovak team.
  • Foster a high-performance culture aligned with Valmet Leadership Principles.
  • Set clear objectives and support employee development.
  • Promote collaboration across regional and global teams.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and governance processes.
  • Manage local budgeting and cost control.
  • Support order handling, customer service, and project execution processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and customer investment plans.
  • Identify emerging opportunities and risks.
  • Provide regular market insights to regional leadership.

What do we expect from you?

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • 7–10+ years of sales, business development, or management experience in industrial B2B environments.
  • Proven experience leading customer relationships and commercial negotiations.
  • Experience in process industries, automation, valves, flow control, or related sectors is preferred.
  • Experience managing multicultural teams and channel partners.

  • Czech or Slovak – fluent.
  • English – professional working proficiency.
  • Additional Central European languages are an advantage.

Travel Requirements

Frequent travel within Czech Republic and Slovakia and occasional international travel within Europe.
