Te Tūranga – About the role

As our IT Asset Accountant, you’ll be responsible for the financial management and reporting of IT projects and assets, ensuring integrity, accuracy, and alignment with accounting standards and business policies.

This is a highly collaborative role where you’ll partner with stakeholders across IT and Finance to support project delivery, cost management, and best practice accounting outcomes.

What you'll be doing

Supporting end-to-end IT project accounting, from setup through to reporting and asset capitalisation

Managing project financials including labour, external costs, and monthly reporting

Setting up and maintaining SAP project structures and ensuring data integrity across systems

Producing reporting to support project monitoring and decision-making

Managing IT asset capitalisation, depreciation and maintaining the fixed asset register

Performing reconciliations, investigating variances, and supporting impairment assessments

Supporting compliance with Capex policies and maintaining strong financial controls

Identifying opportunities for process improvement and driving efficiencies

He kōrero mōu - About you

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring the following skills and experience

A degree in Accounting, Commerce or similar, and be working towards your CA qualification

Working knowledge of NZ IFRS, with practical application across project accounting, fixed assets, or IT environments

Experience with large complex organisations, with SAP experience highly desirable

The ability to analyse information, identify issues, and influence outcomes

Clear communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders

A proactive, curious mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
