Cloud Architect - T Cloud Public (m/f/d)

About The Role
As a  Cloud Architect  for T Cloud Public, you will shape the next generation of our public cloud by enhancing and evolving the physical and virtual networking layers of our OpenStack-based platform.
Your responsibilities include
- Designing, operating, and further developing OpenStack-based network services on the T Cloud Public  platform in close collaboration with vendors and internal experts.
- Planning and driving automation initiatives using modern frameworks to improve reliability and speed.
- Enhancing the platform’s network architecture with strong focus on IT security and robustness.
- Working closely with specialists across the Deutsche Telekom Group on topics related to public cloud and open-source technologies.
- Preparing technical materials, presenting architectural concepts, and advising management on strategic technology decisions.
- Acting as a senior architect within an agile squad — supporting, mentoring, and guiding colleagues as part of everyday work.
- Handling hands-on tasks at the console to validate and support architectural decisions.

Must-have requirements
- Completed studies in a technical, engineering, or scientific subject — or equivalent professional training.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in IT with strong exposure to modern cloud technologies.
- Deep knowledge of software, cloud, and container architectures.
- Experience with infrastructure automation (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- In-depth knowledge of Linux, system tools and network related services
- Strong customer orientation and the ability to understand real-world use cases.
- Knowledge of agile development methods and experience working in agile teams.
- Mentoring, presentation, and communication skills — you can explain complex concepts clearly.
- Ability to evaluate technical solutions and propose creative, future-proof approaches.
- OpenStack knowledge and open-source programming experience are strong pluses.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
