About The Role
The Intermediate Environmental Drafting and Data Technician/Technologist role balances between working with AutoCAD and EQuIS software. The Drafting part of the role will largely consists of working in the AutoCAD environment, in preparing 2D plans for environmental site investigations, including but not limited to general site layouts, geological cross-sections, working with various sources to compile site plans for remediation purposes and/or prepare graphic presentations to support feasibility studies and proposals, as required.
Your role
The data part of the role will largely be focused on processing data within the EQuIS (environmental database management program by Earthsoft), verifying the accuracy of data (laboratory and field) and correcting errors discovered, preparing a variety of tables, graphs/diagrams, and borehole logs. Additional responsibilities may include running trend and statistical analysis, using software like GWSDAT and/or ProUCL, working with MS Access databases and/or working with historical documents to extract, transform and/or process the data within EQuIS. This job is open to hybrid work and other office locations.
About you
- Completed post-secondary education in a related field (Certificate, Diploma, Degree, etc.).
- Experience with EQuIS and/or similar database software.
- Having one or more of the following technical/software skills would be considered an asset:
- Experience working with AutoCAD Civil3D 2020 or later.
- Experience working with Surfer.
- Experience working with Pathfinder Office and/or other GPS processing software.
- ArcGIS plugin and/or ArcGIS data linking within the AutoCAD environment.
- Microstation.
- gINT or other borehole log software.
- Strong AutoCAD skills using version 2020 or later.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office with proven advanced skills in utilizing Excel.
- Self-starter with the competence to take initiative and go beyond what the job situation requires.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work across a variety of time zones.
- Willingness to learn new skills and serve as support in a number of capacities.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to change priorities to meet group needs.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Eligibility for federal reliability clearance.
