Position Summary

As an Activity Leader, you will help create a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for elementary-aged students (Grades K–5). You will work alongside certified teachers and site leadership to support academic learning, physical fitness, social-emotional development, and recreational activities while ensuring every child feels welcomed, supported, and successful.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare lesson materials, learning centers, bulletin boards, and activity supplies.
  • Lead engaging physical fitness, recreation, and wellness activities.
  • Support homework assistance and academic enrichment.
  • Reinforce social-emotional learning through daily interactions and activities.
  • Supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities while maintaining a safe environment.
  • Assist with snack distribution, transitions, arrival, dismissal, and site operations.
  • Encourage positive behavior while building respectful relationships with students.
  • Follow daily schedules and support STEM, literacy, arts, and enrichment programming.
  • Work collaboratively with site staff to create a fun, structured, and positive learning environment.
  • Communicate professionally with families and site leadership.
  • Participate in required staff meetings and professional development.
  • Follow all Big Ideas policies, safety procedures, and chain of command.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Childcare or youth development experience preferred (1–2 years).
  • Ability to successfully complete Florida Level II Background Screening.
  • Ability to complete the required 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training (if applicable).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to supervise children in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Part-Time

  • Monday through Friday
  • 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
