Job Description

The Merchants Sales Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of existing large merchant partners while also pursuing the selective acquisition of new merchants within targeted segments. This hybrid role places greater emphasis on relationship development (farming) while retaining hunting capabilities to support local expansion efforts. Operating in the field, the Funter engages directly with key stakeholders through in-person visits, acting as both a trusted advisor and commercial growth driver within the merchant ecosystem.YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Responsibilities

  1. Account Management and Development (Primary Focus)
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with a portfolio of large merchant partners through regular on-site visits
  • Monitor merchant performance (usage, frequency, revenue) and develop tailored plans to improve engagement
  • Promote participation in co-marketing campaigns, seasonal promotions, and digital activation initiatives
  • Identify upselling, cross-selling, and renewal opportunities within the existing merchant base
  • Serve as the main commercial contact, resolving operational issues in coordination with internal teams
  1. Targeted Merchant Acquisition (Secondary Focus)

Identify and approach new high-potential large merchants within assigned sectors or territories

  1. Present Pluxee’s value proposition and negotiate terms in line with business objectives
  • Manage the full acquisition cycle from prospecting through to onboarding handover
  • Collaborate with Legal, Onboarding, and Product teams to ensure feasibility and smooth activation
  1. Sales Execution and CRM Discipline
  • Use Salesforce CRM to manage activities across both portfolio accounts and new prospects
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions, deals, campaign participation, and performance KPIs
  • Monitor key metrics including retention rate, merchant growth, pipeline conversion, and contact frequency
  • Execute structured commercial cadences and contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes
  1. Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Field Sales Manager to align priorities, track objectives, and plan account actions
  • Collaborate with Merchant Marketing to ensure visibility, campaign alignment, and merchant participation
  • Share insights from the field to inform product evolution, segment targeting, and campaign design

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field

Work Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in B2B sales, account management, or field commercial roles
  • Demonstrated experience managing large accounts and/or acquiring new strategic partners
  • Familiarity with benefit platforms, digital ecosystems, or merchant networks is an advantage

Skills & Certifications

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to manage dual responsibilities (account development and acquisition) with autonomy and structure
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Languages

For global, regional, or area roles, fluency in English is required. Additional languages such as French, Spanish, Portuguese, or other relevant languages are an advantage.

For local country leadership and management roles, fluency in the local language and English is required.

For local individual contributor roles, fluency in the local language is required. English is considered an advantage as it supports communication, learning, and collaboration in a multinational context.
