Job Description
The Senior Innovation Program Manager – Digitalization plays a pivotal role in Philips' Digitalization of Innovation program, a strategic enterprise-wide initiative focused on transforming innovation and product development from a document-centric to a data-centric way of working. The program aims to establish connected information flows and digital thread capabilities across engineering, quality, IT, data, and business functions, creating the foundation for AI-enabled innovation, improved lifecycle traceability, and data-driven decision making. Working closely with business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders across Philips businesses and enabling functions, the Program Manager supports the deployment of digital engineering capabilities, aligns transformation initiatives, and accelerates the adoption of new ways of working that increase innovation effectiveness and productivity.
The Senior Innovation Program Manager is responsible for facilitating small, multi-site programs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, and demonstrating advanced entrepreneurial skills, working under limited supervision. The role collaborates closely with stakeholders, secures agreement on program goals while managing scope, schedule, budget, and risks, defines expected deliverables, monitors interdependencies, and maximizes program benefits
Your role
- Facilitates the management of small, multi-site programs within multiple business/market/function, ensuring alignment and demonstrating advanced knowledge of entrepreneurial skills, working under limited supervision.
- Collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders to secure agreement on program goals, manage program scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, and risks, and negotiates effective solutions to achieve organizational objectives.
- Defines and monitors the expected deliverables, interdependencies, and program approaches, integrating progress reports and outcomes into the program's end-product or service to realize program benefits.
- Guides and may support team members, project managers, fostering their professional growth and development within the organization, and ensuring adherence to program tolerances and budgetary constraints.
- Analyzes program risks and issues, identifying mitigation actions and fostering a risk environment conducive to considerate risk-taking behavior, while continuously seeking opportunities for program improvement and knowledge sharing within the organization.
- Serves as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, maintaining stakeholder partnerships and looking for ways to add value beyond immediate requests, while leveraging commercial skills for negotiation and subcontract management.
- Implements change management strategies to manage short-term business change and realizes business benefits initiated in the program, exercising judgment and influence on key process decisions within the program and cross-business stakeholders.
- Utilizes advanced analytical skills to address high complexity requests efficiently, applies conceptual thinking to develop innovative solutions and strategies.
- Supports the execution of the Digitalization of Innovation roadmap, ensuring alignment across business units, engineering disciplines, and enabling functions.
- Facilitate alignment between business, engineering, quality, IT, and data teams to support deployment of digital engineering capabilities and improved innovation effectiveness.
- Identifies opportunities to simplify, standardize, and digitalize engineering and innovation processes while promoting best practices and knowledge sharing across the organization.
You are the right fit if you have
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred), Systems Engineering (preferred), Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, Program Management or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience leading large-scale R&D, engineering, digital transformation, innovation excellence, or business transformation programs in complex global organizations.
- Proven experience in standardizing innovation and product development processes across multi-site and multidisciplinary R&D organizations.
- Experience establishing and scaling Digital Thread capabilities across the product lifecycle, including integration of PDM, PLM, ALM, ERP (SAP) and engineering toolchains.
- Demonstrated experience implementing Model-Based Engineering (MBE/MBSE) principles and digitalization strategies to improve product development effectiveness and traceability.
- Experience leading enterprise-wide data governance, data integrity, and lifecycle traceability initiatives in regulated environments.
- Proven track record of driving organizational change, capability building, and adoption of new ways of working across global engineering communities.
- Experience governing and prioritizing complex portfolios of transformation initiatives and managing executive-level stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, Right-by-Design principles, and regulatory compliance frameworks within product development environments.
Preferred Certification
- Philips Project Management Certification: Project Management Practitioner
- SAFe Agilist, SAFe Program Consultant, Lean Portfolio Management, or equivalent Agile transformation certification.
- Prosci Change Management Practitioner
- Business Architecture, Systems Engineering/MBSE, Data Governance, or Digital Transformation certifications are considered a plus.
Compensation & benefits
Doing meaningful work should come with fair, transparent rewards. The base salary range for this role is € 78,187 –€ 130,312 . We determine pay within the range using objective factors, like the skills the role requires, your relevant experience and the responsibility you'll have in this role, alongside internal equity and local market considerations.
This role is eligible for 3% annual bonus with your rewards linked to KPIs and the company’s performance.
