QUANTITY ESTIMATOR

We are currently seeking a Quantity Estimator to join our fast-growing team in Toronto . As a member of our team, you will work in a dynamic environment that fosters growth with every project . This position reports to the Se nior Project Estimator.

Vacancy Status: Current Opportunity

RESPONS I BILITIES

  • Work independently or as part of a team to prepare estimates and budgets.
  • Perform preliminary and detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications using assembly-based on-screen takeoff software .
  • Prepare
  • quantity take-offs
  • for conceptual, design-build , construction management , or general tender projects.
  • Review
  • proposal specifications and drawings to determine
  • the scope of work .
  • Prepare tender packages for subcontractor bidding .
  • Liaise with subcontractors for bid requests, questions, and follow - ups .
  • Review sub - contractors ’

tenders a nd prepare preliminary analys es for review .

  • Evaluate design options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or material available.
  • Assist project management teams with subcontractor awards, quantity analysis, and change orders

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful completion of a Civil or Construction Engineering Management diploma or equivalent ;

or

a minimum of 1-3 years of related construction estimating experience, preferably with general contractors.

  • Strong computer skills , particularly in M S Excel and Excel f ormulas
  • Ability to read and interpret

drawings and specifications

  • Capable of accurately prepar ing a variety of quantity take - offs across all CSI ( Construction Specifications Institute) divisions of work
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A bility to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with onscreen takeoff software
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Possess r eliable transportation for travel to the Toronto Head Office or j obsites located throughout the GTA , as ne eded .
