Environmental Manager

We are seeking an Environmental Manager for our First Quality Tissue Midwest, LLC facility located in Defiance, OH. This position will be responsible for organizing, managing, developing and maintaining compliance with FQTMW’s environmental programs.

Primary responsibilities include

• Be an active part of the site’s management team
• Maintain the site’s environmental management system

• Maintain site environmental policies, procedures and training programs, and update as needed
• Maintain all air quality control, waste disposal and wastewater treatment systems
• Act as primary interface with environmental regulatory agencies
• Prepare all reports for submission to regulatory agencies as necessary
• Ensure FQTMW is in compliance with local, state and federal environmental rules and regulations
• Leads the investigation of environmental incidents and near misses with the objectives of identifying and correcting root causes to prevent future incidences
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with environmental regulators and departments
• Represents FQTMW in community or industry environmental groups

The ideal candidate should possess the following

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering/Science or related field
• Five years environmental program leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

• Air, waste, wastewater treatment, and stormwater operations and permitting experience
• Knowledge of all local, state and federal environmental rules and regulations
• Possess and steadfastly adhere to high moral principles and professional standards
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Strong training skills

• First 3 months, training will take place in Anderson, South Carolina and Lock Haven, PA.
