Director, Professional Services Industry
Unit4 · Remote, England, United Kingdom
About The Role
We are seeking a highly credible industry leader to shape and drive Unit4's growth in the Professional Services Organisations (PSO) market. This is a senior leadership role, owning our PSO industry strategy, shaping go-to-market plays, influencing product direction, and serving as the authoritative external voice for Unit4 in the segment.
This is a role for someone who has operated at the top of the industry — a leader with the standing and credibility to sit alongside the boards of major consultancy and professional services firms. You will engage externally at the highest levels, as a peer to CFOs, COOs and CEOs, and internally as a trusted advisor shaping strategy and enablement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and lead Unit4's growth strategy for the PSO industry, setting direction on positioning, priorities and market approach.
- Partner with Sales leadership to design go-to-market plays and account strategies that deliver pipeline and accelerate revenue growth.
- Act as the public face of Unit4 for PSO: lead industry events, publish thought leadership, and represent us with analysts, advisors and associations.
- Chair the Professional Services Industry Board, convening top-tier customers to influence roadmap and co-create value.
- Work with Product Management to align solutions with PSO priorities and ensure industry needs shape our roadmap.
- Develop compelling industry value propositions and enablement for sales, pre-sales and partners.
- Build a community of customer advocates and reference programmes that drive credibility and trust in the market.
- Bring deep industry knowledge and C-level gravitas to strategic deals and key customer engagements.
Qualifications
- Extensive leadership experience within, or selling into, major Professional Services Firms (e.g. consulting, engineering, IT services, legal, audit/advisory).
- The credibility and presence to operate as a peer to CFO, COO and CEO audiences, and at board level, in top-tier PSOs.
- Deep understanding of the PSO operating model, including utilisation, project profitability, partner economics and revenue recognition standards (IFRS 15/ASC 606).
- Strong knowledge of ERP-supported processes for project-based businesses and associated financial and resource management practices.
- An established industry network and recognised external profile through published thought leadership or speaking engagements.
- High intellectual acuity, translating market insight into practical strategy and action.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, comfortable as a public spokesperson and strategic partner to internal teams.
- Execution-oriented, collaborative, and aligned with Unit4 values: passionate about customers, results-driven and forward-thinking.
