Job Description
Job Title: Administrative Assistant – Billing
Department: RCM-Billing
Location: Charlotte, NC Randolph Road and Park Road locations
Reports To: RCM Manager
Position Summary
The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the billing and revenue cycle team to ensure efficient and accurate processing of billing-related activities. This role assists with documentation, data entry, account support, and communication with internal teams and patients. The Administrative Assistant plays a key role in supporting workflow efficiency and maintaining the integrity of operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the revenue cycle team
- Assist with data entry and maintenance of patient information in the practice management system
- Prepare, organize, and distribute documents and reports
- Support claim submission processes and ensure required documentation is complete
- Answer incoming calls and route appropriately
- Track and log correspondence, including incoming mail, faxes, and electronic communications
- Assist with payment posting support and reconciliation tasks as needed
- Maintain accurate and organized files (electronic and paper) for records
- Assist with AR, coding, and patient access teams to support issue resolution
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies when handling patient information
- Identify workflow inefficiencies or documentation gaps and escalate to leadership
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1–2 years of administrative or healthcare office experience
- Basic understanding of medical billing or revenue cycle processes
- Experience with computer systems, data entry, and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational and customer service skills
Preferred
- Experience in oncology or specialty healthcare setting
- Familiarity with practice management systems and EHR platforms
- Exposure to insurance claims processing or billing workflows
