Why You Will Love this Job

As the HSE Advisor, you will provide professional advice, guidance and support to site personnel on all health, safety, environmental and compliance matters. Working closely with project teams, clients and contractors, you will help maintain a safe, compliant and Incident and Injury Free (IIF) workplace while driving continuous improvement in HSE performance.

This is a FIFO role operating on a 16 days on / 10 days off roster supporting a major EPC project in Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and actively contribute to Clarke Energy's Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture
  • Maintain site management systems and support ongoing compliance with company, legislative and client requirements
  • Conduct workplace inspections, surveillance audits and compliance reviews
  • Participate in incident investigations, reporting and corrective action management
  • Monitor Work Permit systems and ensure compliance with permit requirements
  • Conduct Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments
  • Support the development, review and implementation of SWMS, JSAs and risk assessments
  • Ensure site registers, training records and compliance documentation are maintained
  • Liaise with client representatives, contractors and site personnel regarding HSE matters
  • Support emergency response planning and exercises
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and guidance to workers to promote safe behaviours and continuous improvement
  • Track and close out actions arising from audits, inspections and investigations in a timely manner
  • Travel interstate as required.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in a HSE role within construction, mining, oil and gas, power generation, renewables or other high-risk industries
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (essential)
  • ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training (essential)
  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Work Health and Safety (highly regarded)
  • Degree qualification in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management (highly regarded)
  • Lead Auditor qualification (desirable)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
  • White Card (essential)
  • Strong experience in risk assessment, incident investigation and safety auditing
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to deliver toolbox talks, safety training and coaching to site personnel
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • High level of integrity and commitment to safety leadership
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
  • Experience with systems such as Skytrust, Chemwatch and Omega 365 will be highly regarded
  • Australian work authorisation is required at the time of application
