Role Summary
As Lead Engineer, SimCorp, you will design, build, and operate technology that supports Investment Accounting, Performance Measurement, and Investment Operations across CPP Investments’ global portfolio.
As a hands-on technical leader, you will deliver high-quality software, solve complex engineering challenges, mentor other engineers, and strengthen engineering practices, operational resilience, and delivery capabilities within the SimCorp Technology team and across Technology & Data.
Accountabilities & Qualifications
Technology & Data is fundamental to how CPP Investments manages risk, measures performance, and supports investment operations across its global portfolio. The SimCorp Technology team develops and operates the technology ecosystem supporting Investment Accounting, Performance Measurement, and Investment Operations.
Accountabilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, and support end-to-end technology solutions that enable complex business capabilities in an Agile environment
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and coaching while promoting engineering excellence and continuous improvement within and across teams
- Apply advanced knowledge of the technical landscape and supported business capabilities to guide solution design and engineering decisions
- Encourage agility and innovation through experimentation, early feedback, and responsiveness to evolving business needs
- Frame complex problems clearly, engage colleagues in thoughtful analysis, and build support for well-reasoned recommendations
- Lead or facilitate cross-team root-cause analysis and strengthen operational resilience
- Build strong relationships with business partners, peer technology teams, and vendors while fostering collaboration, mentorship, learning, and professional growth
What You Bring
- An undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field, such as Engineering or Computer Science
- At least six years of relevant software engineering or technology experience
- Extensive experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java
- Strong knowledge of software development practices, including version control, testing methodologies, and Agile delivery
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, readable, well-documented code that follows established coding standards
- Experience providing technical leadership, coaching, or mentorship to other engineers
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across business, technology, and vendor teams
