The Materials Assistant Manager manages all material functions from the flow of materials, supplier through production to customer. The Materials Associate is responsible for minimum inventory investments, minimum transportation costs and efficient plant material operations. The Associate also directs and coordinates the application, implementation, and activities of the Company’s ERP system.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the material flow process.
- Establish and maintain supplier release procedure and supplier banking requirements to ensure an uninterrupted supply of raw materials to meet production requirements.
- Establish and monitor finished goods inventory levels to ensure on-time compliance to customer release requirements while minimizing carrying and premium freight costs.
- Review department/plant measurables (customer delivery, supplier delivery, premium freight and inventory) and establish corrective measures for performance adherence.
- Provide leadership to subordinates for individual and group development.
- Overall ownership of material ordering, availability, and scheduling targeting 2 ~ 4 week inventory levels, at a minimum
- Ensure systemic accuracy of inventory
- Rescheduling materials for pull ins (expedites) and push outs (for inventory control)
- Achievement of daily, monthly and annual team targets
- Adheres to yearly budget and carries out the plan to meet that budget
- Aligns Innovation team to forecast and reduces labor expense, forecasts, tracks and escalates as necessary
- Responsible for establishing and promoting a safe working environment and establishes and monitors compliance activities to support the safety program
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or business
- 3-5 Years of experience in materials planning
- Some occasional international travel required. Must be able to demonstrate PowerPoint and Excel proficiency
- Bilingual Korean/English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing
