About The Role

With over 60 years of experience in sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing, Birgi Mefar Group is the highest-capacity production service center in Turkey and the surrounding region. The company provides contract manufacturing services for more than 50 local and global pharmaceutical companies using pre-filled syringe (PFS), lyophilized, vial, ampoule, and BFS technologies. Operating with a vision of becoming the preferred contract manufacturing partner for pharmaceutical companies worldwide, Birgi Mefar Group is looking for a Purchasing Executive to join its team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of procurement experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing industries.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing procurement teams.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in both direct and indirect procurement.
  • Experience in procurement budgeting and budget management.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical thinking, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a results-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and actively participate in direct and indirect procurement processes to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage the procurement budget, ensuring achievement of budget targets.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving and process efficiency initiatives.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with local and international suppliers, including pricing, contracts, and payment terms.
  • Develop sourcing strategies, identify alternative supply sources, and manage supply risks.
  • Manage supplier selection, segmentation, qualification, and performance evaluation processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Quality, Finance, and Technical departments to ensure timely procurement of required materials and services.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with GMP requirements, quality standards, and company policies and procedures.
  • Lead, develop, and manage the procurement team, including workload distribution, performance management, and employee development.
  • Monitor procurement KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes.

Candidate Criteria

  • Experience: 8 -16 years
  • Education Level: Bachelor's Degree (Graduate), Master's Degree (Student/Graduate), PhD (Student/Graduate)
  • Foreign Language: English (Reading: Advanced, Writing: Advanced, Speaking: Advanced)
