Job Summary

The purpose of this role is to provide senior technical ownership for the build-out, operation, and continuous improvement of the LME’s strategic application hosting platform, driving adoption of Kubernetes-based technologies, automation, and software-defined infrastructure across critical environments.

The role will act as a senior subject matter expert within the Deploy Platform team, shaping platform design, leading complex technical delivery, supporting production readiness, and partnering with application, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to enable resilient, scalable and secure platform services.

Job Duties

Responsibilities

You will lead the local Deploy Platform team, providing technical leadership for the strategic private cloud infrastructure, currently based on Red Hat OpenShift. Key responsibilities include:

• Own and lead the design, build, maintenance and support of the Private Cloud Kubernetes platform, ensuring it meets availability, security, scalability and operational requirements.
• Define and implement platform engineering standards, patterns and guardrails for Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, automation, observability and secrets management.
• Lead complex integration of the Kubernetes platform with on-premises infrastructure, management tooling, CI/CD pipelines, security controls and low-latency exchange environments.
• Drive delivery of reusable core platform services consumed across the LME infrastructure, including development environments, secrets management, monitoring, logging and deployment workflows.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership for production changes, incident response and problem resolution, including out-of-hours support for the Private Cloud environment when required .
• Guide application teams in designing, deploying and operating workloads on the Private Cloud platform, improving developer experience and production readiness.
• Review and approve technical designs, configuration and code changes for non-production and production environments, including critical low-latency exchange platforms.
• Maintain platform and application security across all developments, ensuring appropriate controls , hardening, vulnerability management and operational resilience are embedded by design.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical direction to peers, helping raise engineering standards and knowledge across the team.

Required Knowledge and Level of Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, IT or related disciplines, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure automation or production infrastructure roles, including experience in enterprise or business-critical environments.
• Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience deploying, managing and supporting Kubernetes clusters and container platforms, preferably including Red Hat OpenShift.
• Strong understanding of on-premises infrastructure.
• Deep practical experience with infrastructure as code, automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible and Helm.
• Broad knowledge of application architecture and associated services, including DNS, load balancing, high availability, multi-site deployments, security tooling and observability.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical delivery, assess conceptual alternatives, make sound engineering decisions, and influence stakeholders without relying solely on formal authority.
• Experience operating production platforms with disciplined change management, incident management, risk awareness and strong documentation practices.
