About The Role
The Forklift Operator will be responsible for performing various duties in the warehouse in a fast-paced lean environment to include: receiving and put-away of all inbound receipts, shipping, and picking of products to support Plant operations. Maintain inventory accuracy. Monitor coolers/freezer temperatures. Responsible for keeping warehouse area organized. Must have stand-up forklift and RF scan gun experience.
Available shifts
1st shift: Monday - Thursday 4am - 2:30pm.
2nd shift: Monday - Thursday 2:30pm - 12:30am
Weekend shift: Friday - Sunday 4am - 5:30pm
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
- Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jack, forklift and by hand as needed
- Must be able to operate stand up forklift
- Utilize mobile handheld devices for tracking shipments
- Safely climb in and out of trailers
- Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs. frequently)
- Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g. pallets, straps, rope)
- Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time on a loading dock that has potential to be below freezing and may become slippery
- Safely reach, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel as necessary to perform the job duties
- Verify and complete required documentation and reports
- Adhere to company safety policies
- Frequent contact with co-workers and supervisors; fast-paced and deadline oriented
- Safely work in cold weather conditions
Required Skills and Experience
- 2-4 years' prior forklift experience
- Stand up forklift experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to speak/read/write in English fluently
- Good basic math skills
Preferred Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and arms
- Frequently required to stand, communicate, and listen
- Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Able to perform repetitive movements
- Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)
