Position Summary
As a Patient Service Specialist / Certified Medical Assistant, you’ll be a vital part of our care team, supporting both administrative and clinical functions to ensure a seamless experience for the residents we serve. Working closely with primary care providers, you'll help manage day-to-day patient interactions and clinical support needs—always striving to exceed expectations and deliver quality care in line with state guidelines and the CMA scope of practice.
Essential Functions

- Collect and organize labs, orders that need signatures, dietary recommendations, pharmacy recommendations, nursing concerns, etc. for NP to review.
- Obtain and assist in acquiring vital signs, pulling Medication Administration Record (MAR), and orders.
- Obtain necessary medical records from hospital systems and the facility EMR.
- Prepare the medical record in the UHP EMR
- Obtain chief complaints and vital signs.
- Complete demographic information and chronic conditions on chart.
- File and maintain necessary documents.
- Other duties as assigned
Care Coordination
- Ensure lab and diagnostic test results are tracked and reported to providers
- Prepare patient charts for upcoming visits by reviewing and updating records
- Assist with phone triage using approved protocols to gather symptoms and relay concerns appropriately
General Expectations
- Follow infection control and safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative team members
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Degree or GED
Licensure/Certification
- Active Medical Assisting Certification (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required within 90 days of hire)
Experience
- One year of medical assistant healthcare experience (preferred, not required)
- Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office (preferred, not required)
