Media Researcher - 12-month Secondment/FTC

About The Role
The Media Researchers are responsible for managing both new and pre-existing content from Sky Sports News covering different sports from Football, Cricket, Rugy and F1 to name a few.
The main responsibilities for the Sports Archives include sports & support which consists of administration required within the MAM system, including the creation of events and IDs for Sport and Production use. Providing first-line support to over 3,000 MAM users, ensuring smooth operation and user assistance . Incoming feeds and logs for sports events are reviewed, edited and archived with relevant metadata on the MAM.
In addition to this, daily tasks consist of logging and archiving of Sky Sports News Clips and Rushes. As well as being responsible for answering footage requests from different areas across the business including News, Sports and Creative Marketing teams. Other workflows include digitising archival content, vault work, QC projects & aiding uploads for Getty Clip sales.
What you’ll do
- Archiving and logging important footage for Sky Sports News
- Sports Digitisation Projects (you will be responsible for overseeing from Ingest to final QC of archival footage from tape to our Media Asset Management system)
- Work closely with clients from various sports teams to deliver on their requests both with colleagues within the team, and independently
- Using a variety of software/hardware including Viz systems, TLS, Ardome and ArchiveII
- Develop and build upon current skills to become a multiskilled researcher within the department
- Work to add content to our Getty clip sales platform
- MAM administration
- Reviewing information from Lines Requests for sports bookings, database entry creation, ID creation, rectifying errors, moving and amending material, plus EDL troubleshooting
What you’ll bring
Essential c riteria
- Have excellent knowledge of both historic and current sports. The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate expertise in Football, Cricket, F1, Golf, and a variety of other sports that we cover
- You’ll need to be a good communicator, with the ability to work well within a team as well as independently
- Work may include varying shifts and days based on module requirements, with some on-site workdays as standard
- A knowledge of Sky’s sports rights for copyright purposes with footage
- You will need to be highly organised to deal with and prioritise your daily workload and balance the departmental requirements
- Solid and previous experience using MIC Viz One, Cloud UX and Ardome systems

- How you’ll work
- The role is based on a 7 day fortnight pattern.
It is a 12 hour shift, 11 with 1 hour lunch - 38,5 hours for 2 weeks
8am-8pm: Weds, Thurs
8am-8pm: Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun
Then, for the next 2 weeks
10am-10pm: Weds, Thurs
10am-10pm: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat & Sun
