About The Role

Essential Functions: (Performance of these functions is the reason the job exists. Assigned jobs/duties are not limited to the essential functions).

  • Answers incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally; routes calls, takes messages, and provides basic information in accordance with facility policy.
  • Greet and assist resident and patient Visitors.
  • Performs data entry as assigned, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality of information including the accurate registration of patient accounts. scheduling, prior authorizations, deposits, etc.
  • Sorts, reviews, and routes documents received through the virtual fax inbox to appropriate departments or staff.
  • Performs clerical and receptionist duties including filing, copying, scanning, faxing, and preparation of routine paperwork.
  • Assists nursing, clinical, and administrative staff with non-clinical clerical support to promote efficient unit operations.
  • Completes red tag entry and tracking in accordance with facility procedures.
  • Enters maintenance work orders for identified repair needs, environmental concerns, or equipment issues.
  • Assists with transportation coordination and related communication tasks as assigned.
  • Supports room readiness and unit appearance by performing light cleaning tasks, removing trash, and preparing areas for patient or resident use as directed.
  • Maintains pantry cleanliness and stocking, including organization of supplies and nourishment areas.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of refrigerators, coffee bar areas, and shared staff or public-use spaces.
  • Maintains general facility appearance and maintenance through cleaning, and floor care.
  • Assists with laundry and linen support, including monitoring par levels, restocking clean linens, and communicating shortages.
  • Collects and transports soiled linens and waste to designated areas following infection control and safety protocols.
  • Performs power cycling, cleaning, and basic upkeep of Workstations on Wheels (WOWs) in accordance with policy and infection control standards.
  • Identifies equipment, supply, or environmental concerns and communicates issues promptly to appropriate departments.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workstation and shared work areas.
  • Follows all infection control, safety, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements.
  1. Participates in required training, in-services, and quality improvement activities, including data collection efforts for quality improvement projects.
  2. Performs other related duties as assigned to support hospital and long-term care operations.

Requirements

Qualifications for Employment

Qualifications for employment include the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform a job, which are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education, or training.

Knowledge of

  • Basic clerical and administrative processes in a healthcare or service-based environment, including data entry, document handling, and knowledge of insurances
  • Infection control principles related to environmental cleanliness, linen handling, shared equipment, and PPE use
  • Confidentiality requirements, including HIPAA and workplace safety procedures
  • Basic inventory and par-level concepts for linens, supplies, and stocked areas

Skill to

  • Perform accurate data entry, tracking, and documentation tasks as assigned
  • Communicate professionally by phone and in person and route information appropriately
  • Maintain clean, organized unit areas, equipment, and shared public spaces
  • Identify maintenance, supply, or equipment issues and initiate work orders or notifications

Ability to

  • Work independently while following policies, procedures, and direction
  • Adapt to changing priorities and support clerical and unit operations as needed
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and customer-service focus in a healthcare environment
  • Meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • Active Nevada driver’s license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
