About The Role

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Spine Surgeon (UK CCT Holder to join our Government Hospital. The successful candidate will provide advanced surgical and clinical management for patients with spinal disorders, including degenerative conditions, spinal trauma, deformities, and complex spinal pathologies. The role requires expertise in advanced spinal procedures, multidisciplinary collaboration, and commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of spinal conditions affecting the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.
  • Perform complex spinal surgical procedures including minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal decompression, fusion, and reconstruction procedures.
  • Evaluate patients through clinical assessment, imaging review, and diagnostic investigations to develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Provide comprehensive pre-operative assessment, surgical planning, and post-operative follow-up care.
  • Manage spinal trauma cases, degenerative spine diseases, spinal deformities, and complex revision surgeries.
  • Collaborate with neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, radiologists, rehabilitation specialists, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide expert consultation for complex spinal cases and participate in clinical decision-making meetings.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and international healthcare standards.
  • Participate in clinical audits, research activities, quality improvement programs, and medical education initiatives.
  • Mentor and support junior doctors and contribute to the development of spine surgery services within the hospital.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Completion of recognized residency training in Orthopedic Surgery or Neurosurgery with advanced fellowship training in Spine Surgery.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of post-qualification experience as a Consultant Spine Surgeon in a tertiary care hospital or university healthcare facility.
  • Extensive experience in advanced spinal procedures and management of complex spine conditions.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary surgical team environment.
  • Strong clinical leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to patient safety, evidence-based medicine, and continuous professional development.
