About The Role
The Store & Logistics Supervisor is responsible for end-to-end store operations, including raw material handling & issuing to production, WIP/SFG control, finished goods management, shipping, and logistics coordination.
The role ensures uninterrupted material flow to production, inventory accuracy, and on-time dispatch, while maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards. This position acts as the critical interface between Production, Planning, Procurement, Quality, and Transporters.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Raw Material Management (RM Stores)
- •Oversee receipt, unloading, verification, and storage of raw materials against PO / GRN.
- •Ensure quality clearance coordination (GRN, QC release) before storage/use
- •Maintain proper identification, traceability, FIFO/FEFO compliance, and storage conditions.
- •Ensure timely issue of raw materials to production lines as per production plan / schedule.
- •Prevent line stoppages through proactive material staging and line feeding.
- SFG / WIP (Shopfloor Inventory Control)
- •Manage semi-finished goods (SFG) flow between processes and ensure correct storage, handling, and traceability.
- •Monitor WIP levels vs plan to avoid excess inventory or shortages.
- •Ensure proper binning, labeling, segregation of OK / HOLD / Rejected materials.
- •Coordinate with Production & Quality for rejections, rework, and material movement.
- Finished Goods (FG) Management
- •Ensure accurate receipt of FG from production, including quantity, batch, and labeling checks.
- •Maintain FG warehouse organization, traceability, and storage discipline.
- •Track customer orders vs FG availability and support dispatch planning.
- •Identify slow-moving or excess FG inventory and support corrective actions.
- Dispatch, Shipping & Logistics
- •Plan and execute daily dispatches as per customer schedules / dispatch plan.
- •Coordinate with transporters, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders for on-time delivery.
- •Ensure proper packing, labeling, documentation (invoice, e-way bill, delivery challan) for shipments.
- •Monitor loading / unloading operations and ensure safe and efficient handling.
- •Handle dispatch discrepancies, logistics delays, and escalate issues proactively.
- •Lead and supervise storekeepers, warehouse operators, forklift drivers, and contract workforce.
- •Allocate manpower and ensure smooth shift-wise operations of stores & logistics.
- •Train team on SOPs, safety practices, and correct material handling procedures.
- •Ensure discipline, attendance, and performance management of team Work closely with Production, Planning, Procurement, Quality, and Engineering to ensure smooth operations.
- •Participate in lean initiatives, layout optimization, and material flow improvements.
- Inventory Control & Accuracy
- •Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP / SAP /
- •Conduct cycle counts, stock audits, and annual physical verification.
- •Identify and control inventory discrepancies, shortages, and damages.
- •Ensure compliance to FIFO, stock rotation, and inventory optimization practices. Ideal Candidate
- •Education: Diploma / Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain / related
- •Experience: 7–10 years in store / warehouse / logistics operations in manufacturing (preferably automotive)
- •Minimum 2–3 years in supervisory role
Technical Skills
- •Strong knowledge of store operations (RM, WIP, FG, dispatch)
- •Experience with ERP/SAP/WMS systems
- •Understanding of inventory control, FIFO, stock audits
